Obituary

Verna (Rix) Clark Farrar, 95, of Gorham, NH passed away on Tuesday February 26, 2013 at her home. She was born in Gorham, NH on December 27, 1917 the daughter of Mark and Marjorie (Philbrook) Rix and was a lifelong resident of the area. She had been employed by the Gorham School Department in the cafeteria, worked in the museum on Mt. Washington and worked at the Philbrook Farm Inn. Verna was active in the Dupont-Holmes Post #82 American Legion Auxiliary, the Rebekah’s, the Odd Fellows, the Gorham Methodist Church and most recently, the First Baptist Church in Berlin.

Members of the family include sons Paul Clark and fiancée Helen Kotz of Gorham, Richard Clark and wife Cecile of Gorham and George Clark of Shelburne; daughter Barbara (Clark) Brown and husband Jim of Merrimack; grandchildren Vicki Clark, Russell Clark, Ericka McDonald, Jared Clark, Douglas Brown, Daniel Brown, Shane Clark and Nathan Clark; 6 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband Edward Clark, her second husband Almon Farrar and a sister Vera Terry.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 2 at 2 PM at the First Baptist Church, High St., Berlin. Interment will be in the Peabody Cemetery in Shelburne in the spring. Relatives and friends may call at the church Saturday from 1-2 PM prior to the service. Anyone who wishes may make a donation to the First Baptist Church, 79 High Street, Berlin, NH 03570.
