Samuel "Sam" L. Orebaugh

Samuel "Sam" L. Orebaugh, 65, of Anderson, completed his transplant journey on February 26, 2013 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Samuel was born January 2, 1948 in Muncie, IN to Charles D. and Betty (Becker) Orebaugh.
He served in the US Air Force.
He worked production at Delco Remy Division of General Motors 40 years before retiring in 2004.
He worked at Cowpokes after retirement.
He was a member of Central Christian Church. He had attended 50 years at Chesterfield Christian Church.
He listened to the oldies records. The Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers and the Cincinnati Reds were his favorite teams. He loved following grandkids and all their activities and adventures. He was all family.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy (Dunn) Orebaugh of Anderson whom he married May 6, 1972 at Chesterfield Christian Church; his stepmother, Carole (Carpenter) Orebaugh; his father & mother-in-law, James and Maxine Dunn; daughter, Jayna (Jason) Friend of Anderson; son, Jesse (Jennifer) Orebaugh of Kailua, Hawaii; sister, Kristen (William) Caylor of Chesterfield; four grandchildren, Jesse and Jordyn Friend, Jonathan and Journey Orebaugh; sisters and brothers-in-law, Amy (Randal) Saathoff; Daniel (Cathy) Dunn; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many beloved friends including David and Jane Brattain.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.
The family would like to express their gratitude to family and friends and to doctors and staff at IU Methodist Hospital for their support, love and prayers during our journey with Sam.
Service will be on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Central Christian Church with Rev. Rick Vale officiating. Burial will be in Bronnenberg Cemetery in Chesterfield. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 28 from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home and Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
