Obituary

Miriam A. Edwards, of Abington, born June 2, 1923, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Weymouth Healthcare Center at the age of 89. Miriam was born in Rockland and worked for many years at E.T Wight & Co. She was an avid Red Sox fan and loved playing cribbage and taking trips to Foxwoods. She was also known for making the best darn brownies and raspberry squares you would ever eat.
Miriam was predeceased by her loving daughter Margaret “Peggy” Thomas, her sister Elizabeth Clawson and brothers Melvin Hines and John Hines. She is survived by her beloved husband Francis B. Edwards, her son John Edwards and his partner Donna O’Brien of Randolph, her beloved granddaughter Lisa Edwards of Agawam, her grandchildren Matthew, Nicholas and Heather Thomas of Florida, her sister Mary Monk of Kingston, brother George Hines of Rockland, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. We would like to extend a special thank you to the Clawson family for their continued care and support of Miriam and Frank.
There will be a service for her family and friends held in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St ( Rte 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman, MA on Thursday February 28, 2013. There will be a calling hour from 10:30-11:30am and a service immediately following at 11:30am. Miriam will then be laid to rest at Bourne National Veterans’ Cemetery on Connery Ave in Bourne, MA.
