Obituary

Erik D. Fredrikson 85, of Framingham, MA and Venice Beach Florida died peacefully Sunday February 24, 2013 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy M. (Nelson-Sawyer) Fredrikson with whom he shared 28 years of marriage.

A Framingham resident for 28 years and formerly of Burlington and Arlington, MA. He was born in Concord, MA the son of the late Karl and Ruth (Knutson) Fredrikson.

Mr. Fredrikson was a machinist employed by M.I.T.- Lincoln Laboratories for over 25 years and later was a teacher for 10 years at Northeast Vocational School in Wakefield, MA.

He enjoyed boating for many years and was a member of the Independence Yacht Club in Onset, MA. Erik was a member of the Simon Lodge of Masons of Burlington, and was an avid golfer belonging to leagues in Framingham and Florida.

Mr. Fredrikson was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army in the European Theatre.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters Kim Fredrikson of Londonderry NH, Lauren Gentz and her husband Robert of North Babylon NY, his stepchildren Paul Sawyer and his wife Maura of Framingham, Kristine Bazonski of Bellingham, MA, Dana Sawyer of Marlborough, MA, his son- in- law Donald Waller of Methuen, MA grandchildren Chandler Crimmins, Cameron Gentz, Brandon Gentz, Lindsay Waller, Josh Waller, Griffin Waller, Edward Sawyer and his wife Lindsey, William Sawyer, and David Sawyer.

He was also the father of the late Erik D. Fredrikson Jr, Brenda Waller and brother of the late Gloria Johnson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Thursday February 28 at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common. Visiting hours are Thursday, beginning at 4:00 P.M. prior to the service.

Burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA on Friday March 1 at 11:15am.
