Josephine M. “Josie” Assortato, 87 of Saugus, died Saturday after a long illness in the Blueberry Hill Health Care, Beverly, MA.
Born in Wakefield, she lived in Saugus for the past 6 years and was the daughter of the late Carmella (Russo) and Philip Marino. Josephine was an Assembler at various shoe factories in the Boston Area for 20 years and retired in 1982.
Beloved wife of the late Luigi F. Assortato. Devoted mother of RoseAnn LaTorella of Medford, Michael Assortato of Revere and Louis Assortato of Saugus. Also survived by 4 loving grandchildren and 2 loving great grandchildren. Sister of Joseph Marino of FL and the late Carmella Melanson, Gaetana, Philip, Salvatore and Rosario Marino.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Friday at 10 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
