Emily D. Kelley, 23, of Westfield, MA, died Saturday, July 17, 2004 in the Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Emily was born on June 8, 1981 in Derry, NH, a daughter of John C. and Rhonda J. (Hupps) Kelley. She was a resident of Westfield for one month, formerly living in Manchester, NH. She was a graduate of Londonderry High School, Londonderry, NH, Class of 2000. She served in the US Navy from July 24, 2000 to April 24, 2004. She entered Boot Camp in Great Lakes in Chicago, IL and graduated in the top three in her class from Tech School in Dam Neck, VA. She was stationed in Hawaii on the USS Frederick until it was decommissioned in October of 2003 and then she was stationed in Pearl Harbor for the Harbor Master in the quarterdeck. She was then honorably discharged as an E5 operations specialist. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, daughter, parents, sisters and her extended family who will all miss her dearly.
Besides her parents of Manchester, she is also survived by her husband, Michael Durgin of Westfield, MA, one daughter, Abby Durgin of Westfield, three sisters, Lindsay Kelley, Janelle Kelley, and Lydia Kelley all of Manchester, two grandmothers, Jean Munt of Londonderry, Andrea Farnsworth of Brentwood, NH, one grandfather, Lester Kelley of Indiana, one great grandfather, Francis Farnsworth of Deerfield, NH, her aunts and uncles, Dexter Kelley, Paul and Thelma Hussey, Christine Hupps, Denise and Jason Adams, and her cousins, Jonathan Hupps, Paul Hussey Jr., Jacob Adams, and Matthew Adams.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 22nd at 1:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Burial will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:30 - 8:30pm at the funeral home.
