Obituary

CHICOPEE – Roberta E. “Bobbie” (Fish) Gagne, 77, of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Friday, February 22, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Springfield on May 1, 1935, a daughter of the late Charles D. and Dorothy (Archey) Fish. She was raised in the North End section of the city, attended the High School of Commerce and lived in the city for many years before moving to Chicopee in 1963. She was last employed as a school lunch monitor for the City of Chicopee at the Robert R. Litwin School. She was a loving woman who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Daniel J. Gagne. They were married on October 29, 1955 at Saint Michael’s Cathedral in Springfield and were blessed with over 57 years of happiness together. She also leaves her loving children, David J. Gagne and his wife, Cynthia, of East Longmeadow, Richard J. Gagne of Chicopee and Kimberly R. Kennedy and her partner, Mario Gonzalez, of Cleveland, OH; her five cherished grandchildren, Daniel D. Gagne, Dylan M. Gagne, Kyle J. Gagne, Ryan D. Peacey and Megan D. Peacey; her cherished great-granddaughter, Addison Peacey; her brother, David E. Fish and his wife, Alice, of Utah; her loving sister-in-law, Lucille Fish of Springfield; her loving brother-in-law of the Gagne family, Leo “Butch” Gagne of West Springfield; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her loving brother, John “Jack” Fish. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. Her Committal Service will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to either the National Kidney Foundation, Connecticut and Western Massachusetts, 1463 Highland Avenue, Cheshire, CT 06410-1216 or to the Alzheimers Association, 264 Cottage Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
