Obituary

WALL, Maurice Richard, Retired Detective Sergeant, Boston Police Department of Centerville formerly of West Roxbury and Neponset. Passed February 22, 2013 at age 89. Beloved husband of the late Elaine (Norton) Wall. Devoted father of Kevin and his wife Karen of Methuen, Thomas and his wife Donna of Waltham, Maureen Ward and her husband Paul of Sudbury, Robert and his wife Marilyn of West Roxbury, Richard and his wife Anne of West Boylston, and James and his wife Lisa of Roslindale. Loving brother of Mary Puddister and Margaret Wall of Dorchester and the late Joseph Wall of Rockland. Grandfather of 17 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. U.S. Navy WW II Veteran, who served aboard the LST 54 during the Invasion of Normandy and Retired Detective Sergeant of the Boston Police Department with 35 years of service. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, February 26th from 4:00-8:00 pm. at William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury. A service to celebrate his life will be held on, Wednesday, February 27th at 10:00am at St. Ann Church, 251 Neponset Ave, Dorchester. A committal service with military honors will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Alzheimer’s Hospice, 480 Pleasant St, Watertown, MA 02472.
