Obituary

New London, New Hampshire
Edward C. Lee, Jr., 83, formerly of Webster and Leesville, S. C., passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013 at home in New London, N.H.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary E. (Trainor) Lee, three of his six sons, Greg and his wife Maureen of Thompson, CT., Bill of Webster, and Jay of Sydney, Aus., his daughter –in-law, Vicky Nelms of Columbia, S.C. and his sister, Margaret Peterson of Sunapee, N.H.; his six grandchildren: Shane, Nicole, Will, Graci, Lili, and Ali; and nieces and nephews, several of whom brought him great joy in the latter months.
He is predeceased by three sons, Terry, Ed, and Brian; brothers, Dick, Bud, Willy and Walter; sisters Gerry and Betty.
He was born in South Worcester, the son of Edward and Elizabeth(Cove) Lee, and there met his future wife at the corner pharmacy; he was the soda jerk and she the daughter of the future Chief of Police.
Ed proudly dedicated his life to his country. He joined the military at age 17, serving 9 years in the Navy, in which he served with his four brothers, and then 11 years in the Air Force. His military career spanned 20 years across WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. His military career took him all around the globe, from Japan to the Netherlands and all across the Us from Washington, DC to New Mexico to California. He graduated, with his proud family present, from South Worcester High school in 1999, in recognition of the knowledge and skills garnered during his military career which began instead of finishing high school. In his later years he developed a passion for restoring antique tractors on his farm in South Carolina. He took great joy in his grandchildren.
The Funeral will be Wednesday, February 27, 2013 with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Louis Church, 16 Lake St., Burial with Full Military Honors provided by the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Webster.
Calling Hours will be Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 5 PM to 8 PM in The ROBERT J.MILLER FUNERAL HOME and LAKE CHAPEL, 366 School St., Webster.
