Obituary

Mr. Charles M. Roderick, age 51 of Medford, died unexpectedly Tuesday February 19. He was born in Boston and a lifelong resident of Medford and a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1979 and was skilled in several areas of the construction trade. Charles was employed with the M.W.R.A as a pipefitter for more than 17 years and previously worked for the Town of Arlington in the construction department. Charles was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and also enjoyed watching Ultimate Fight matches. He will be remembered as the consummate "free spirit" and a proud daddy. He often referred to his 2 daughters as the "love and joy of his life. He also loved to cook, but was best known as a gifted gardener. He had a way with raising violets that has accomplished gardeners wanting his secrets. As a motorcycle enthusiast, only a Harley Davidson would do. His motorcycle registration "white rice" gave him instant recognition everywhere.


Beloved son of Charles and Jean (Graham) Roderick of Medford. Devoted father of Carly M. and Lauren J. Roderick both of Acton. Dear brother of Linda Barrile and her husband Robert of Medford, Laura Roderick of Methuen, Thomas Roderick of AZ and the late Kenny Roderick. He will be sadly missed by his beloved cat "K.C. Belle".

A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 4 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 2-4. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Charles's name to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Atten: Prosthetics, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
