NATICK: Grace (Ludwig) Kinchla passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
She was predeceased by her parents James and Margaret (White) Ludwig, her brother Roger, and her sister Jeanne. She was born in Camden, NJ, and made her home in Natick for the past 50 years.
Grace is survived by two sons, James E. of Natick, and Mark S. and his wife Elizabeth Milch of Natick; five grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Daniel, Joseph and Henry; and many dear friends and neighbors.
Grace graduated from Newton High School, Class of 1958 and Fisher Junior College, Class of 1960. She worked at Wellesley College for 28 years, retiring in 2007. She enjoyed her many handwork projects and was an avid knitter of the most beautiful sweaters, hats, blankets, and socks that she lovingly bestowed on friends, family, and pets. A woman of deep faith, Grace was a devoted member of St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Natick and a caring volunteer at Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Natick.
Sharing in her family’s accomplishments was a great highlight in Grace’s life. She loved children, especially her grandchildren, and their sight and sound always brought a smile to her face. She also took much pleasure in cheering on Boston sports teams, gardening in her yard, taking walks, practicing yoga, being with her friends, reading books and taking healing trips to the ocean. Grace learned to live a balanced life through acceptance and solitude and was a calming and helpful influence for many. She will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Grace’s life will be held at St Paul’s Episcopal Church, 39 East Central Street, Natick, on Friday, March 1st at 10:30a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Grace’s memory to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Building Fund, 39 East Central Street, Natick, MA 01760.
