Rose J. (DeSantis) Lamarre age 88 of Salem, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the NSMC/ Salem Hospital in Salem. She was the devoted wife of Rene C. Lamarre with whom she had shared 45 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Attilio and Natalina (Parsi) DeSantis. As a young woman Rose owned a beauty shop located on Cabot St. in Beverly. She later worked for BOMAC in Beverly until her marriage to Rene in 1968.
The couple settled in Salem where she devoted her time to her family and her love of cooking. She was a member of Ste. Anne Parish of Salem.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Richard M. Lamarre and his wife Laura of Beverly, a granddaughter, Rachel R. Lamarre of Beverly, a sister Madeline Redmond of Beverly, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Jack and sisters, Josephine, Laura, Louise and Gemma.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 8:00 A.M. to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours at the funeral home are on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
