Obituary

Marie Aspelund, 96, entered into rest on February 17, 2013 at Prestige Nursing Home in Grandview. She was born on December 27, 1916 in Blue Ridge, Texas to Virgil and Lettie Pearl (Langham) Ingram. She was raised and educated in Texas and moved, with family friends, to Oregon City where she met and married Alvin Hart. They made their home in the lower Yakima Valley. After Alvin’s death, she married Woodrow Wilson and they made their home in Prosser, Grandview and at White Pass. After Woodrow’s death, she married Carl Aspelund and they made their home in Yakima for the last twelve years.
Marie worked as a clerk at Jackson Drug Store in Grandview and JC Penney in Sunnyside. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making her own clothes. She also enjoyed cooking, canning, and spending summers in Alaska. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Marie is survived by her husband, Carl Aspelund of Yakima; her sons, Richard Hart and wife, Carolyn of Prosser and Floyd William Hart and wife, Diane of West Richland; her sister, Lucille Sievers of Vincennes, Indiana; grandchildren, Scott Hart and Aimee Pearson of Prosser, Tanya Angelo of Richland and Joseph Hart of Pasco; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband’s, Alvin Hart and Woodrow Wilson and four brothers, Claude, Clettie, Fermin and Floyd.
Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am at Prosser Funeral Home followed by a Graveside service at 11:00 am at the Prosser Cemetery.
