GLOUCESTER: Frances C. “Francie” Linquata, 71, died early Tuesday morning, February 19, 2013 at the Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.
Born in Gloucester on June 7, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Frances V. (Saputo) Linquata. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and had attended Gloucester public schools.
Francie was a graduate of the Mansfield Beauty Academy and worked for many years at the former House of Robel. She had also been employed as a van driver for Pathways.
She is survived by nieces, Dolores Sheehan and her sons, John Sheehan, and Michael Sheehan, who is also Francie’s godson, Gina, wife of James Barrett and their children, Brian Barrett, fiancé of Samantha Frontiero, and Vanessa Barrett; a grandniece, Jennifer Thompson; her brother, Sebastian “Arizona” Linquata, husband of Natalie; sister-in-law, Marie (Aiello) Linquata and her children; aunts and uncles, Nina, wife of Paul Conti, Katherine “Katie” Mitchell, and Thomas, husband of Josephine “Fini” Linquata; many dear friends, godchildren and cousins, including her dear cousins, Kathleen, wife of John Scola, Pauline Scola, Maryann, wife of Bill Porper, Angeline Verga, Fina Nicastro; and her beloved dog, Rusty. She was also predeceased by her brother, Louis F. Linquata; sister, Geraldine “Mamie” Thompson; and her nephew, John Thompson, III; and a dear cousin, John J. Saputo.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning in the Holy Family Parish, St. Ann Church at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. Please omit flowers. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery.
