Betty Jean Roberts Jones (Miss Betty), 78, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Jones was born July 7, 1934 in Coffee County, Georgia to the late Roy and Ollie Mae Morris Roberts. She lived in the community most of her life and was a restaurateur for more than 50 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband: Charles E. Jones of Fitzgerald; one son: Danny Ricketson of Georgetown; one sister: Peggy & Earl Melton of Fitzgerald; three grandchildren: Missy Ricketson of Clinton, North Carolina, Elizabeth Ricketson of Cummings and Josh Ricketson of Macon and four great-grandchildren. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a son: Dean Ricketson.
