Hanik, Mary E. (nee) Thompson age 101 a former resident of Ridgefield Park and Teaneck passed away peacefully at the St. Ann’s Home in Jersey City on Sunday, February 17, 2013. Beloved wife of the late John Hanik. Mary was predeceased by her devoted parents Michael and Elizabeth Thompson as well as by her loving siblings; Catherine Hummel, Anabel Neilly, Jean Kerr, Agnes Feely, James Thompson, Eleanor Clifford, Rosemary O’Reilly, John Thompson, Walter Thompson, George Thompson, Vera Vanderschmidt, Frank Thompson, Rita Perry, and Charles Thompson. She is survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. Mary was a payroll clerk at American Tack in Suffern, NY. She was a longtime and dedicated parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Ridgefield Park where she was also a member of the Rosary Society. Funeral service Saturday, 8:30AM from the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Rd., Teaneck then to St. Francis RC Church for a 9:30AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow at Hackensack Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit Friday 2-4 & 7-9PM.
