Patrick Shawn Winters, 36 died unexpectedly Monday, February 18, in Key West, Florida. Born in Lawrence, MA, Patrick grew up in Methuen MA. He attended Saint John's Preparatory High School, Danvers, MA, and later graduated from the College of The Holy Cross and attended Suffolk Law. Lovingly known as Junior, in Key West, Patrick was known for his incredible smile and mischievous glint in his eye. Patrick was a popular DJ in many Key West night spots. His DJ work also brought him to the southeastern part of the United States, most recently opening for acts such as Taylor Dayne. In addition to his professional pursuits, Patrick volunteered to perform at many different charity events, including recent participation in the Wounded Warrior Project.
Patrick is survived by is parents, Kevin and Eileen Buckley Winters of Methuen, MA, his brothers Kevin of Methuen and Ryan of San Diego, CA, and by his Grandmother Virginia (Jean) Buckley of Lawrence, MA. Patrick also leaves behind,his partner Shaun Carter, Uncle Charles Edward Winters of Methuen, Uncle James and his wife Judy Winters of Andover, Aunt Belinda (Winters) Sapienza and her husband Paul of North Andover, many cousins and numerous friends throughout the Merrimack Valley and Key West, FL. Patrick was predeceased by his Grandfather Cornelius Buckley and his Aunt Patricia Buckley of Lawrence, paternal grandparents Charles Winters and Mary Martin as well as Uncles Lt. Col. Michael (USAF) and Shawn Winters all of Andover.
A memorial mass in celebration will be held at Saint Monica's Roman Catholic Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen MA, at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, February 23, 2013.
On February 28,2013 friends will gather for a celebration of Patrick's life at La Te Da, in Key West from 5:00-7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to a charity of your choice in Patrick's name.
