Allen T. Olson, 93, of Derry, NH passed away peacefully on Monday February 18, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 22, 1919 in Malden, MA a son of the late Allen and Frances (Heath) Olson. Mr. Olson proudly served in the US Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post #27 in Londonderry. He worked as a millwright for many companies in Massachusetts as part of the Union Local #1121. Allen enjoyed singing karaoke, dancing, being around people and having a good time.
He is survived by his wife Cleo (Newell) Olson of Derry, two daughters, Lisa Ahern and Judith Silva, both of Hudson, FL, grandchildren Michael and Elaine as well as many more grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. He is also survived by five step-children, four siblings, Rosie Vaness, Ruthie Paradise, Freddie Olson and Frank Olson, many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife Elaine (Willette) Olson, second wife Aurora “Laura” Olson, four children, Lucille Olson, Roy Olson, Jeffrey Olson, and Allen “Lawrence” Olson, and three siblings, Florence Wheeler, George Olson and Mary Dupont.
Calling hours were held on Thursday February 21, 2013 from 5 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Funeral services were held on Friday February 22nd at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery, Everett, MA.
