Danny Ross "D.R." Ingram, age 70, died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the MS State Veterans Home in Oxford, MS. He was a cattleman and farmer, and was born in Oxford, MS to the late Albert Ross and Birdie Smith Ingram. D.R. served as a 1st Lieutenant MP in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY. He graduated from Mississippi State University where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was Director Emeritus of Mechanics Bank and past Director of Tallahatchie Valley Electric Association. He served as Chairman of the Board of the American Polled Hereford Association and was a member of First Baptist Church of Water Valley, MS.
Visitation is planned for Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Water Valley. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Bain and Rev. Rosa Lee Jones officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with James Leslie Oliphant, Jarvene Shackleford, Mike Wood, Lance Newman, Kevin Kimzey and Gene Standridge serving as pallbearers. Fred Eakes, Joe Larson, Bill Larson, Eddie Ray, Bob Rosson, Lorri Williamson, Eddie Aune, Snooky Williams, Ernie Aune, Charles Sharp, Larry Kimzey, Dr. Paul Odom, W.G. Griffin and Tommy Hill will serve as honorary pallbearers.
D.R. is survived by his daughter, Julie Cloud Ingram Tyler (Cam) of Water Valley, MS; his son, John Ross Ingram (Julie) of Water Valley, MS; and six grandchildren, Lauren Cloud Tyler, John Christopher Tyler, Caroline White Tyler, Dean Ross Ingram, Julianna Marie Ingram and John Reese Ingram.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Linda Fite Ingram, preceded him in death.
