Robert E. "Bob" Hight, a 25 year resident of Medford and formerly of Somerville, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, Florida. He was 64 years old.
Bob was born in Everett on April 13, 1948, a son of the late Kenneth Hight and Theresa (Grant) Hight. He grew up in Somerville where he attended the Somerville Public School system. Bob worked for many years as a truck driver for several construction companies. Bob's passion second to his family was his love of antique cars and the rebuilding of "Hotrods".
Bob is the beloved husband of 36 years to Elizabeth "Betty" (McCormack) Hight. He is the devoted father of Rochelle Jennings and her husband Michael of Chelmsford. He is the loving Grampy to Tyler and Cameron Jennings. He is the beloved brother of Donald Hight of Somerville and the late Gladys Cross, Kenneth Hight and Gerard Hight. He is the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Gathering for Bob on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Melrose. Interment is private.
