Obituary

Mr. Michael T. Rossetti of Somerville died on Friday, Feb. 15th in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. Mr. Rossetti was born in Charlestown, son of the late Louis and Angelina (DeMusis) Rossetti. He was educated in local schools. Following school he joined the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. He learned the trade of a welder and following his military service he was employed by the U.S. Government as a welder at the former Charlestown Navy Yard where he worked for many years. Mike loved gardening and was well known for his vegetables, especially his tomatoes. He loved to be near the water and enjoyed the beach. In earlier years he played tennis. He had a talent he kept hidden from all except family, his spectacular singing voice. It is said he could rival even the legendary Frank Sinatra. Although encouraged by all who heard him, he preferred to remain anonymous in the music world. He was happy to participate in family gatherings and enjoyed spending time with his brothers and sisters and their families. He is survived by 2 brothers, Ralph Rossetti and his wife Mary of Stoneham, James Rossetti and his wife Lorraine of Woburn, two sisters: Josephine Defino and her late husband Vincent of Somerville, Rose Brooks and her husband Lloyd of Wilmington. Brother of the late Mary Rossetti, John Rossetti and Eleanor M. Bonnano. He will be lovingly missed by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. A Funeral service will be held in the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home 306 Main Street Medford Wednesday at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 pm. Services will conclude with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
