Marilyn A. (Tavano) Griffiths, 68, of Brooksville, FL and Dartmouth, MA passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday February 12, 2013. She was the wife of David F. Griffiths.
Born in Acushnet, the daughter of Mary M. (Scherf) Tavano and the late Fiore A. Tavano, she lived in New Bedford and Dartmouth for many years and wintered in Florida for 14 years.
Mrs. Griffiths was formerly employed as a cafeteria worker for the Dartmouth Public School Department.
She was formerly active in the Boy Scouts of America, having served as a den mother and committee chairperson. She also had been active in various women's groups in Florida, especially the Red Hat Society. She was a graduate of Sacred Hearts Academy in Fairhaven.
She is survived by her husband; her mother; her sons, Ryan Griffiths and his wife Beth of Brooksville, and Michael Griffiths of New Hampton, NH; her grandchildren, Brandon, Shawn, Ashley, Logan, and Nadia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9 AM at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
