Ann M. “Nancy” (Ziemba) Lignar, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 27, 1934 in Chicopee and has been a lifelong resident. She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Cygan) Ziemba. Nancy worked as a dental assistant for several years and then as a secretary for Renner-Davis Stationary Company for many years before she retired. She was a communicant of St Stanislaus Basilica. She leaves her loving husband of almost 60 years, John Lignar of Chicopee; 2 sons, John Michael Lignar of Westfield and Kenneth Lignar and his wife Cindy of Chester, CT; 3 daughters, Darlene Lignar of Chicopee, Karen Lignar of Chicopee and Janice Grise and her husband James E. Grise of Chicopee; her brother Richard Ziemba and his wife Jennine of CA; her sister Charlotte Zarlengo and her husband Felix of RI; 6 beloved grandchildren, Christopher Jacques, Catherine Welch and her husband Timothy, Amanda Weinberg and her husband David, Angela Belz and her husband Jeffrey, Michael Allen Lignar and Meagan Lignar and 3 great grandchildren, Kaiden Gates, Logan and Jacqueline Weinberg with 2 more great grandchildren expected this year. She is predeceased by 8 siblings and leaves many nieces and nephews. Nancy enjoyed spending time with family and will be missed by all who knew her. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 10:00 A.M from the Grise Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St Stanislaus Basilica at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date.
