O’Hara, William F. “Jerry” of Marshfield, formerly of Humarock and Naples, Fl. passed away suddenly on February 13, 2013 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of the late Mary (DeToma) O’Hara, who passed away one week earlier on February 6. Loving father of Joanne Minnaert and her husband Kevin of Marshfield and the late Robert O’Hara of New York City. Loving grandfather of Kerri Scolponeti and her husband Mark of Marshfield and Erik Minnaert of Marshfield. Loving great grandfather of Lea Scolponeti. Dear brother of the late Edward O’Hara and Thomas O’Hara. Son of the late William and Helen (Townsend) O’Hara. Jerry was born in Cambridge and graduated from Rindge High School in Somerville. Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. Upon returning from the war, Jerry started O’Hara Trucking Co. which he ran with his wife Mary and his brother, Eddie. He was a resident of Humarock before retiring in Naples Fl. where he and Mary spent the last 20 years. Jerry was a true Boston sports fan and was a Bruins and Red Sox season ticket holder for many years. He also had a great love of the New England Patriots and spent his Sunday afternoons watching his favorite team. Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 1 to 5 p.m. A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday February 18 at 11:00 a.m. Interment for both Jerry and Mary in the Plymouth County Cemetery.
