Helen C. (Cummings) Thibeault, 73, of New Bedford died Wednesday February 13, 2013 peacefully at Royal of Fairhaven surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. She was the wife of Conrad T. Thibeault; they had been married for 51 years.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Robert and Helen (McCarthy) Cummings, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Thibeault was formerly employed at Cape News.
She loved being with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by her beautiful smile and her wonderful laugh.
Her family would like to thank all of their family and friends for their support throughout the years, as well as the staff of Royal of Fairhaven and Fidelis Hospice for the loving care given to Helen.
She is survived by her husband; three children, Lisa Thibeault and Deborah Thibeault Correia, both of Fairhaven, and Michael Thibeault and his partner Chuck Gonzales of New York; two brothers, James Cummings of East Freetown and Thomas Cummings of Acushnet; a sister, Ann Swistak of Fairhaven; two grandchildren, Madalena and Quinn Medeiros; and nieces and nephews.
She was the mother-in-law of the late Richard Foucart and Michael Medeiros, and sister of the late Robert Cummings.
A private family burial service will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Royal of Fairhaven Activities Fund, 184 Main St., Fairhaven, MA 02719.
