Hortense Amaral, 94, of New Bedford died February 13, 2013 at New Bedford Health Care Center.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Francisco S. and Estephania (Rose) Amaral, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Miss Amaral was formerly employed by several local textile mills for many years until her retirement.
She was a member of the Goodyear Seniors.
Survivors include a sister, Lorraine Travers of New Bedford; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Amaral of Dartmouth; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Lionel Amaral, Edwina Sousa, Lucille Duarte and Gilbert Amaral.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 19th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday, February 18th from 4-7 PM.
