Edna Griffy Harris, age 93 of Clarksville, TN, died on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Gateway Medical Center.
She was born on May 11, 1919 in Montgomery County, TN to the late Caldwell Griffy and Oneida Wooten Griffy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ragsdale Harris; two brothers, Hubert Griffy and Bernice Griffy; and two sisters, Minnie Mae Sutton and Mable McWhorter.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 1 p.m., at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Carolyn Nobling officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Edna was a lifetime member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Danny (Mechelle) Harris of Clarksville, TN; brother, Tate Griffy of Clarksville, TN; four sisters, Martha Robold, Thelma Morrison of Clarksville, TN, Betty Manners of Mt. Juliet, TN and Juanita Darnell of Harvest, AL; three grandchildren, Blaire Harris, Blake Harris and Brian (Jessica) Shelton; and a great- granddaughter, Hannah Shelton.
Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Manners, Roy Darnell, Hubert Lee Griffy, Jr., and Robert Robold.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
