Clifford P. Grover, 64, of Kingston, NH, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Exeter Hospital, following a period of declining health, with his family and loved ones by his side. Cliff was born on January 25, 1949 to Arthur and Betty (Rindone) Grover. He was a long time resident of Derry and proudly belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1617 in Derry where he served as past Senior Vice Commander and past Surgeon District #7. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1969-1975 and was awarded the "Purple Heart" and the "Bronze Star" medal. His hobbies include gardening, woodworking, and masonry. Cliff's infectious smile, laughter and happiness will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by four brothers and his sister, Arthur Grover Jr. and wife Marie of Salem, NH, Richard Grover and wife Wanda of North Port, FL, Steven Grover of Merrimack, NH, Dennis Grover and wife Jayne of Colo. Springs, CO, and Crystal Grover of Worcester, MA. He also leaves behind his fiance, friend and companion Pamela Check of Kingston; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 19th from 4 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. A funeral service will follow at 7:00pm in the funeral home. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, February 20th at 11:00am in the NH Veterans Cemetery, 110 DW Highway, Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the NH Veterans Cemetery, PO Box 626, Concord, NH 03302-0626.
