Methuen, Ma. – John Zahos Zaharopoulos 73, died Tuesday February 12, 2013 surrounded by his close family following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Greece September 13, 1939 John received his education there. He was the immigrant son of Elias and Elani( Psihogios) Zaharopoulos.
He was a restaurateur and former owner of many restaurants, namely J’s Lighthouse of Stoneham, Ma.
John belonged to the Lawrence Lodge of Elks B.P.O.E. # 65, and an avid golfer, and rest.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years; Hope (Kelley) Zahos, and two son’s Elias and George Zahos and siblings; Vasiliki Papadogiannis, George Zaharopoulos, Niki Hantzis, Panayiota Zavra, and Soula Xronopoulos.
A Funeral Service will take place on Monday morning at 10 o’clock in Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Andover and burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen.
Friends will be warmly received on Sunday from 4:00PM to 9:00PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
