Obituary

WORCESTER-James J. “Big Jim” Todd, 77, of 4 Ives Street died surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 14th in the Jewish Healthcare Center after a brief illness. His wife Eleanor V. (Rizzuti) Todd died in 1974, he leaves 2 sons James W. Todd and his long time companion Brenda Atkins of Worcester and Jon J. Todd and his fiancé Patty A. Beam of Holden, a daughter Beth M. wife of David D. Carlson of Worcester, 2 sisters Gloria Todd of Worcester and Janet wife of John P. Iandoli of Shrewsbury, 3 granddaughters Kimberly A., Sarah E. and Holli M. Carlson all of Worcester, his brother-in-law Jack Carson of Colorado, many nephews and nieces. A daughter Janet M. Todd and a sister Virginia Carson predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of Walter J. and Mary E. (Carter) Todd. Mr.Todd was an Army veteran of WWII and he worked as a special agent for Conrail, a subsidiary of General Motors for 50 years, until retirement. He was a member of the Grafton Hill American Legion Post #223, an avid card player and a doting grandfather.

The funeral is Saturday, July 17th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be Friday, July 16th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
