Obituary

Robert B. Webster, 56, of Worcester passed away on February 11. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 35 years, Cathy (Blanchard) Webster; his two children, Jamie and her husband, Christopher Mahan of Millbury, and Bryan and his wife, Frances Maynard of Worcester; his sister, Judy Webster of Holden; his brother, Richard and his wife, Patricia of Worcester; a large and loving extended family, and many wonderful friends. He was the son of the late William and Gertrude (Sidebottom) Webster. Robert was born in Worcester and attended South High School, where he met his beautiful wife.
An extraordinarily skilled and knowledgeable technician, he worked very successfully for most of his career in the HVAC industry, eventually owning his own company with Cathy, and earning a reputation as a first-class expert in the field. Over the past few years, Rob began professionally teaching at technical schools, most recently at MTTI in Seekonk Massachusetts, an endeavor which his loved. He was a savvy and generous educator, who was lauded by his students and peers alike.
Among his many hobbies and accomplishments, Rob was a gifted inventor and builder who spent many happy hours in his workshop perfecting his newest apparatus and working on projects for his friends. Rob was also a pianist, who taught himself to play the electric saxophone, harmonica, and organ, eventually moving on to spend 7 years as the organist at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Worcester. In his past-time, he loved riding with Cathy on their Harley’s with their group of friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
His funeral is on Friday, February 15th with a service at 2:30 PM in Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster Street. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Thursday, February 14th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester County Food Bank, 474 Boston Turnpike Road, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
