Obituary

HINGHAM – Carolyn Killebrew Harlow, 56, resident of Hingham, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, at home. Born and raised in High Point, North Carolina, she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1978. After earning her paralegal certificate in Atlanta, Carolyn worked as a paralegal in Washington, D.C. and Boston before moving to Hingham. Most recently Carolyn worked as a proofreader at Beyond Words Proofreading in Norwell.

Carolyn was a devoted and loving parent, spouse, daughter, sister, and friend, and a proud Tarheel. An avid reader, she volunteered at the Hingham Public Library both delivering books to shut-in patrons and working in the used book store.

She is survived by her husband, Jonathan W. Harlow, Jr., her sons Jack Harlow of Arlington, Virginia, and Will Harlow of Hingham, daughter Leigh Harlow of New Orleans, Louisiana, mother, Kathleen Killebrew, and brother, Terry Killebrew, both of High Point, North Carolina. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, George Killebrew.

The family would like to thank Carolyn’s doctors and caregivers at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute for their diligent and compassionate care during Carolyn’s long treatment for multiple myeloma.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, Feb. 15, from 4:00 to 8:00 at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), Hingham. A memorial service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be held Sat., Feb. 16, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hingham Congregational Church, located at the corner of Main and Pleasant Streets in Hingham. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carolyn’s name to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
