Obituary

Billy, more affectionately known as “Roufo”, age 66, peacefully passed away on Feb.6, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Springfield on Aug. 11, 1946 to the late Anthony and Toto Roufogalis. Roufo was proud to be aChicopee Firefighter for 30 years and was a Lieutenant when he retired in 2004. He also worked for Central Oil and Apex Oil.He was an avid and active member of Chicopee Lodge #1849 B.P.O.E. The Elks was his “second home.” He was the current Secretary and P.E.R. He was the life of the party, a comic relief, and so wise beyond his years. Roufo was dedicated and committed to caring for “his three girls” and his family always came first. A devoted husband, father, Patriot’s fan, friend, pitch player, and provider he leaves his loving wife of 40 years Lois Roufogalis of Chicopee; 2 daughters, Andrea Roufogalis of San Francisco, CA and Amber Leonard and her husband Jason of South Hadley, his dog KC, two sisters Connie Mitsopoulos and Penelope Anastasia, and a predeceased brother Nick; also his in-laws John and Ruth Garvulenski of Chicopee and Mark Garvulenski of Holyoke. A Memorial Celebration will be held on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 from 2:00-5:00 P.M. at the Elks Lodge, #1849, 431 Granby Rd, Chicopee, MA 01013.
