Jasmine Alford, 19, died Friday, February 8, 2013 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. She was born May 5, 1993 in St. Louis, MO to Calvin Alford, Jr. of Water Valley, MS. Jasmine was a member of Rocky Mt. MB Church of Water Valley, a graduate of Water Valley High School where she played basketball, was a cheerleader and a member of the Beta Club Honor Society. She was an accounting major, currently attending Northwest Community College in Senatobia, MS where she was a member of the NW Rangerettes and the Honors Society.
Visitation is planned for Friday evening, February 15, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Water Valley City Auditorium with Rev. Cleveland Alexander officiating. Burial will be in the Rocky Mt MB Church Cemetery in Yalobusha County, MS.
Jasmine is survived by her parents, Calvin Alford, Jr. and Missy Alford of Water Valley, MS; two sisters, Ca'Najah D'Nay Alford and Niketa Wilson both of Water Valley, MS; one brother, Calvin Alford III of Water Valley, MS; her grandparents, Calvin Alford, Sr. (Rochelle) of St. Louis, MO, Calvin Young of Oxford, MS, and Betty Woodard of Water Valley, MS; her special friend, Jordan "J.D." Fondon.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Linda Young.
