Nova Hudson, 86, of Ocilla, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Monday, February 11, 2013, at Frank Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Edward McIntyre and Elder Jerry Barrs officiating. Interment will follow in Frank Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Hudson was born March 16, 1926, in Haralson County, to the late George Washington and Rosa Smith King. She lived in the community most of her life where she was a caregiver and homemaker. She was former manager of Allied Department Store and she sold Avon. She had a passion for flowers and gardening. Mrs. Hudson was a member of Frank Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters: Sandra Hudson of Ocilla and Gail & David Hobbs of Cordele; sons: Ronald & Elaine Hudson of Irwin County and Timothy & Doris Hudson of Broxton; sisters: Nell McLarty of Bremen, and Mavis Sweat of West Palm Beach, Fl.; grandchildren: Wayne (Connie Calhoun) Hudson, Jane McClelland, Kristie (Jamie) Johns, Matthew (Holley) McCallum, Kayla (Josh) Peacock, Kassidy Hudson, and Kansas Hudson; and great-grandchildren: Justin Johns, Lauren Hudson, Lillie Hudson, Ashley Johns, Cam McClelland, Levi Hudson, Walker Hudson, Dixie Marie Peacock, Mason McCallum, and Timothy Luke Peacock. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson: Dan Hudson; a sister: Lona Thompson; and a brother: Lelton King.
