Grace Ray,90, of Douglas, GA passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Southern Senior Living following an extended illness. Ms. Ray was born on July 22, 1922 in Douglas, GA to the late John M. and Pearl Sears Ray.
Survivors include: brother: Claude (Lou) Ray, Douglas, GA sister: Linnie Land, New Bern, NC, several nieces and nehpews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rowena Cook and three brothers Palmer Randal Ray, Johnny M. Ray, Jr. and Leon Avery Ray.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 2:00p.m. in the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Chaplin Lydia Land officiating. Interment followed at Harrell Church Cemetery. Music was furnished for the service by the Cady Sisters, "Rock of Ages" and "Where We'll Never Grow Old" with Bonnie Musgrove playing the piano. Active pallbearers were: Juran Ray, Buddy Ray, Steve Ray, John Ray, II, Randal Ray and Zach Ray. Honorary pallbearers were: Jack and Carolyn Bray, Leroy and Bobbie Wright, Garland and Geraldine Beasley, Jean Adams, Curtis Wright, Van and Teresa Grantham, Stacy and Nellie Adams, Larry and Wanda Stone, George and Rosa Hester. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
