Rodney Christopher “Chris” Reisdorf, passed on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, leaving three sons: Collin, Cody and Tyler, daughter-in-law Nicole Couillard, wife Grace to whom he was married almost 39 years, brother Robin, and sister in-law Helen. Chris loved his adopted community, moving his family from Michigan to Derry in 1986, where he quickly became known for his quiet logic and problem-solving skills. He served twelve years on the Derry Planning Board and three as a town councilor, while staying active in state and national politics.
Chris held a degree in Forestry from Michigan State University, but his heart was in construction, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. He served as clerk of the works for several projects including West Running Brook Middle School, Pinkerton Academy’s Arts and Humanities building, Bedford High School and Russ Lurgio Middle School, while maintaining his own waterproofing business.
Following cremation, friends may call on Friday February 15, 2013 from 1 – 2:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A memorial service will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in Chris’ name to any of the following organizations: Yellowstone Park Foundation, the Humane Society, NH Christian Science Visiting Nurses, or Ragged Mtn Ski Team.
