Jennie (Zalenski) Gillespie, 90, of New Bedford died Wednesday February 6, 2013. She was the wife of the late Robert Gillespie.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Teofil and Katherine (Polycarpo) Zalenski, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Kilian's Church.
Mrs. Gillespie was formerly employed as an office clerk at Payne Optical.
Survivors include a son, Edward J. Gillespie and his wife Susan of Dartmouth; her daughter-in-law, Gloria Bzdula-Gillespie of The Villages, FL; a sister, Bertha Mroz of Providence, RI; and two grandchildren, Matthew Gillespie and his wife Livia and Megan Gillespie.
She was the mother of the late Robert Gillespie, and sister of the late Rose Gleba, Stanley Zalenski, Frank Zalenski, and Gladys Siwik.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Kilian's Church on Monday at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
