WESTON: Jane Adams (Patterson) Paine, 90, died peacefully in the care and comfort of her family on Wednesday, January 16, 2013.
She was born in Natick, MA on December 23, 1922, the daughter of the late Henry W. Patterson and Elizabeth H. (Nichols) Patterson.
Jane is survived by her loving and devoted children: Polly Caron and her husband Gary of Conway, MA; David Paine of Northampton, MA; Alex Paine and his wife Cathie of Acton, MA; and Lee Bell and her husband Mike of Wayland, MA. Sister of Pat Patterson of Brewster, MA. Grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of John Adams Paine, who died in 2006 and mother of the late Peter B. Paine.
Jane spent her early years in Wayland, MA and had been a resident of Weston for over 80 years. She worked for many years at Weston Studio as an interior decorator. She had a keen eye for antiques, design, and fashion. Jane was a member of the Golden Ball Tavern, supported Al-Anon, and volunteered countless hours with the Weston Council on Aging. Jane was a member of the Weston Golf Club and The Country Club, where she curled with her husband John. She and John loved dogs and they took long walks with them daily. She enjoyed spending summers her entire life in East Orleans, Cape Cod with her extended family. Jane was an avid reader and over the years enjoyed many lecture series at the Museum of Fine Arts as well as going to the Boston Symphony and the theatre.
She will be long remembered for her kindness, grace, lightheartedness, and total devotion to her family.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at the First Parish Church, 349 Boston Post Road, Weston, MA on February 16, 2013 at 11 AM. Private family interment will be held at the Paine family lot in Linwood Cemetery in Weston.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests donations in her memory be sent to the Compassionate Care Hospice, 800 West Cummings Park, Suite 3400, Woburn, MA 01801.
