Obituary

WAYLAND: Frances McLeish Wade, 79, died peacefully surrounded by her family on January 25, 2013 at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born in Scotland on July 8, 1933 the daughter of the late Joseph McLeish and Elizabeth (Stevenson) McLeish.
Mrs. Wade is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Charles M. Wade of Wayland. Loving mother of Jennifer W. Sabot and her husband Gary of Weston and Elizabeth W. Meister and her husband Glenn of Wellesley. Devoted grandmother of Andrew and David Sabot of Weston and Katherine and Paul Meister of Wellesley. She was the sister of Irene McErlain of New Jersey; Joseph McLeish of East Falmouth; Elizabeth Kryston of New York and Mary Baillie of England. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Frances has been a resident of Wayland for the past 14 years and previously resided in Montvale, NJ. She came to the United States from Scotland in 1957. She was an active member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Wayland and served on the Altar Guild for several years. Frances was instrumental in establishing the Church of the Holy Spirit Chapter of Care Wear Volunteers which knits hats, blankets, sweaters and other items for newborn infants. Frances was an avid reader, an accomplished knitter and was a great cook. The greatest pleasure and gift in her life was the time that she spent with her husband, children and grandchildren who were the center of her life. Frances will be remembered for her kindness to everyone that she met and for the graciousness she showed to all who had the opportunity to know her.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 169 Rice Road (Off Route 30), Wayland with the Rev. Dr. Frederick P. Moser, Rector officiating.
Interment will be held at a later date in the Memorial Garden at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Montvale, New Jersey for her family.
