Clare Louise Horton, 91, passed away on January 30, 2013 in Kaplan Family Hospice House.
Born in Wilmington on December 27, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Ida (Wilkins) Horton. She was raised and educated in Wilmington. Clare was a clothing buyer for major department stores in Boston for many years and also worked for the Women’s Educational and Industrial Union on Boylston Street in Boston.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews: Ellen Johnson, Carol Horton, Stephen Horton, Linda Stowe, Susan Horton and Charles Horton. She was predeceased by her two brothers Frederick Horton and Chester Horton.
A Graveside service will be held on May 20, 2013 at 11AM in High Street Cemetery in Hampton, NH. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Clare’s name to the Friends of the Abbot Library, 235 Pleasant St., Marblehead, MA, 01945.
