TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Josephine M. (Kozubal) Jop, age 93, a resident of Tewksbury most of her life, died Saturday evening, February 2, at D’Youville Nursing Care Center in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley J. Jop, who died in 1989.
She was born in Lowell, October 5, 1919, one of two children of the late Stanislaw “Stanley” and Elizabeth (Tenzka) Kozubal, was raised in Lowell and educated in the Holy Trinity Polish School system. After her marriage to Stanley, they moved to North Tewksbury. She was a former communicant of the Holy Trinity Polish Church in Lowell.
Mrs. Jop is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert S. Jop, and Gary J. Jop and his wife Carol (Fitzgerald) Jop all of Tewksbury; two grandchildren, Gary W. Jop and his fiancé Katharine Howlett of Wilmington and Aimee Thibodeau and her husband Joseph of Holton, ME; several nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by her brother Frank Kozubal, and her daughter-in-law, B. Elaine (Demers) Jop, who died in 2011.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday morning, February 6, Memorials to the Merrimack Valley V.N.A. Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843, will be appreciated.
