Allen L. Norfleet, 70, of Clarksville, TN, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 1, 2013 at St. Thomas Hospital. He was born on December 24, 1942 in Woodlawn, Tennessee to the late Henry Augustus Norfleet and Virginia Nell Candler Norfleet. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Norfleet and daughter, Gwen Abbott.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Brother Paul Nolen officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 4-8 p.m., and Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Allen was an U.S. Army Veteran having served with the 508th MP Co. He retired from the Clarksville Police Department after 39 years as a SGT. He was a member of the Clarksville Church of God Church and the FOP Two Rivers Lodge.
He is survived by his son, Bret (Sheila) Norfleet of Clarksville, TN; daughter, Kimberly (Clinton) Mackens of Clarksville, TN; three sisters, Tennie "Beth" (Nicholas) Smith, Edith Hunter-Potts, and Marie (Brett) Schryver of Clarksville, TN; seven grandchildren, Danielle Wall, Joshua Wall, Nicole Huff, Brandon Huff, Zachary Norfleet, Dallen Norfleet, and Jenna Sue Norfleet; six great grandchildren; son-in-law, Kenneth Abbott of Clarksville, TN; and four step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be the Clarksville Police Honor Guard.
