West Boylston - Evelyn E. (Carlson) White, 93, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family. She leaves her husband of nearly 69 years, Wesley A. White; daughter, Karen Jean White; son Steven R. White and his wife Cindy; three grandchildren, Carly, Lucas, and David - all of West Boylston. She was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Randolph "Randy" Carlson.
Evelyn was born in Sutton, daughter of the late Maria E. (Erickson) and Carl I. Carlson. She was a graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester. Pursuing her love of fashion, Evelyn attended the Barbizon School of Modeling in New York City. She was a talented model, seamstress, and decorator. Evelyn was the business administrator for 40 years at her daughter's dance studio, Karen Jean White School of Dance in West Boylston. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Holden.
Her family is so grateful for the loving care of Linda J., Jane E., Dian L., the Raskus, Terry P., Darrelyn P., Jess & Amy and so many friends and their families throughout the area for their devoted prayers; to the family of Chris P., Suzanne S., and the wonderful Homerun Program for their support as well.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 8, at 10:30 a.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 346 Shrewsbury St., Holden. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston. There are no calling hours. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester is directing arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of Immanuel Lutheran Church, 346 Shrewsbury St., Holden MA 01520, or the West Boylston Arts Foundation, PO Box 132, West Boylston MA 01583.
