Obituary

Arthur J. Langevin, 76, of Franklin died January 31 in his home following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was the husband of Nancy A. (Kelly) Langevin.
Born in Natick, December 9, 1936, the son of the late Jerry and Tina (Bardellini) Langevin, Mr. Langevin was raised in Natick and had lived in Needham until moving to Franklin 51 years ago.
Mr. Langevin was a graduate of Natick High School and Newberry Junior college.
Mr. Langevin served in the United State Air Force for 42 years before retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant.
He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Air Force Achievement Metal.
Inclusive in his service were four years spent with the Federal Emergency Management Agency as an Emergency Planning Officer.
Mr. Langevin also served in the Army National Guard.
Following his retirement from the military he operated his own home improvement company and also operated his own gas station and trucking company.Mr. Langevin had also been a member of the Franklin Auxiliary Police.
He had coached Franklin Youth Hockey teams and enjoyed watching NASCAR.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Lisa Flateau and her husband Terry of Franklin, Linda Gallitano and her husband Francis of Franklin, Jerry Langevin and his fiancé Roberta Porter of Franklin, Todd Langevin and his wife Michelle of Franklin, Kelly Langevin and her partner Bill Carrigher of Franklin and Chad Langevin and his wife Taylor of Milford.
He is also survived by his brother Paul Langevin of Otisfield, Maine, 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday February 5 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street in Franklin at 9:00 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Jude’s Church, Norfolk at 10:00.
Burial will be at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Calling hours will be n Monday from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
