Mr. Kehan D. Jaranian, "Zeke" age 95 of Medford died Tuesday in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. Mr. Jaranian was born in Armenia, son of the late George and Anna (Jamgochian) Jaranian. At six months old his family came to the United States and settled in Medford where he was a lifelong resident. A graduate of Medford High School class of 1936, he joined the U.S. Army and fought during the Battle of the Bulge and WWII. He was in the Tank Destroyer Division. He worked as a meat cutter. From 1956 until 1970 he was the proprietor of the Pine Street Market in Malden. From 1970 through 1984 he worked for Brandeis College as a custodian. Zeke was a member of the American Legion #45 on Winthrop Street in Medford where he worked as a bartender for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Medford VFW on Mystic Avenue. A family minded individual, he loved family get togethers and enjoyed his ethnic roots, particularly annual Armenian picnics. He is survived by two daughters: Nancy Chiljean and her husband Gary of Bridgewater, Linda Kurker nd her husband Ralph of Stoneham. Beloved grandfather of Kristine Chiljean of Bridgewater, Alicia Vargus of Stoneham and Julie Carpenter of Lynnfield. Brother of the late Aram Jaranian and Virginia Kardashian. Friends may call Friday at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford from 2-5 pm. At the request of the family, funeral services will be private.
