Obituary

Eleanor R. (Wilson) Lambert, 88, of New Bedford died January 29, 2013 at the Oaks Nursing Home.
She was the wife of the late Clayton B. Lambert.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Gordon B. and Winifred S. (Sulham) Wilson, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life before moving to Fairhaven in 1989.
She was formerly employed by Howland Linens, Wamsutta Mills and Zayres.
Mrs. Lambert was a member of the ladies auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Fort Phoenix Post 2892 and ladies auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Andrews-Dahill Post 1531.
She enjoyed volunteering at the polls on election day, playing cards and bingo.
Survivors include 2 sons, Ronald Lambert and his wife Gail of Acushnet and Timothy Lambert and his wife Sherry of New Bedford; a daughter, Patricia Clarey and her husband Brian of Lakeville; 2 foster-sons, Charles Hammond of Falmouth and Stephen Hammond of New Hampshire; a foster-daughter, Carol Hammond of Virginia; a brother, Richard Wilson and his wife Diana of Florida; a sister, Bernice Geary of New Bedford; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Dorothy Braley, Gordon Wilson, Jr., Kathryn Rothwell, Russell Wilson, and Walter Wilson.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 1st at 9 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours Friday 8-9 AM prior to the Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Eleanor's name may be made to the Oaks Nursing Home, 4525 Acushnet Ave. New Bedford, MA 02745 or to Beacon Hospice, 182 North Main St., Fall River, MA 02720.
