METHUEN: Areanthy Tsapatsaris 85, formerly of 92 Hampshire Rd., Methuen, died Sunday, Jan. 27, at Holy Trinity Nursing Home in Worcester.
Areanthy was a longtime employee at Raytheon Co. She was co-owner of a business.
She was born in Dracut, the daughter of Efthemia (Katramados) and Demetrios Tsapatsaris and lived in Methuen for many years. She was predeceased by her sisters, Katie Papolos and Helen Bankowski, brothers, William and George Chappers. She was a wonderful daughter, great sister, sister-in-law, cousin and aunt. They all loved her very much.
She attended the New England Conservatory of Music where she obtained her bachelors degree. She was well known for her many years of singing in her church choir. She worked assisting with ESL (English as a Second Language) helping immigrants obtain their US citizenship.
Areanthy was engaged in life, visiting family, taking classes, singing, gardening, caring for her cats, volunteering and traveling throughout Europe and South America.
She leaves behind nieces, Carla, Victoria, Andrea, Jennifer, all of Massachusetts, Morie of Florida, Katie of Lima Peru, Lizzie of Switzerland and nephew Demitri Papolos of Connecticut.
Private services and burial will be held in Westlawn Cemetery in Lowell at the convenience of the family.
