WAYLAND: James Patrick “Jim” Westcott, 86, died peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving and devoted family on Monday, January 28, 2013 following a period of declining health.
He was born on August 4, 1926 in Natick the son of the late George A. Westcott and Elizabeth (Lynch) Westcott.
He was the beloved father of Richard L. Westcott and his wife Katherine “Kay” of Wayland; John P. Westcott and his wife Dianne M. of Alamogordo, NM and Thomas A. Westcott and his wife Janice M. of Wayland and the late Joyce A. Sherman and Joanne C. Hunt. Also survived by his son-in-law Norman R. Sherman of Wayland. Grandfather of 6 grandchildren. Husband of the late Dorothy L. (Norton) Westcott who died in June of 1984.
Jim has been a resident of Wayland for the past 68 years and previously resided in Ashland. He spent his formative years in Natick and was educated through the Natick School System. For over 30 years he was a Master Craftsman for ChildLife Play Specialties in Holliston before his retirement. He was an avid gardener of both vegetable and flower gardens at his home. His family was the center of his life and he enjoyed the time spent with all of them.
Visitations will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30) Wayland.
His funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Westcott family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
