Obituary

Robert L. Johnson, 69, of Bedford, died January 28, 2013, after a period of declining health.

He was born in Braintree, MA on May 15, 1943, the son of Frank and Barbara (Pinard) Johnson. He graduated from Braintree High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He then went on to earn his master’s degree from Pace University.

Robert was an avid sports fan, who enjoyed the Red Sox, Patriots and local teams. He was a bass vocalist in the choir at Grace Episcopal Church and donated much of his time supporting patients of the Lymphoma & Leukemia Society. He also enjoyed working on puzzles, Sudoku, playing bridge with his friends and Yahtzee with his grandchildren. He was an incredible husband, father and grandfather. Robert was what every man should be.

Family members include his wife of 44 years, Athanasia “Nancy” (Stacey) of Bedford; one son, Stephen Johnson of Bedford; two daughters, Jo-Anne Bielek (and husband Craig) of Bedford, and Jennifer Parkhurst of Milford; six grandchildren, Alex, Maddie, Kristen, Marisa, Allyson and Paige; a sister, Carole Morse (and husband Norman) of Weymouth, MA; a sister-in-law; a nephew; and several nieces and cousins.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Grace Episcopal Church, 106 Lowell St., Manchester, NH 03101.
